Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
djxcee Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Just curious to see what control panel people use these days. As of right now I plan on using Lxadmin because it comes with lighttpd. I'm the only person using my dedicated server so no need for reselling features and etc.
AndyF Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Cpanel on all three accounts (two different hosting companies)
Tony Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 cPanel on 2 accounts, and Plesk on 1 account. :)
Guest Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 cpanel, like most I'd reckon, it dominates the market :)
AndyF Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I didnt ask for Cpanel but as Pⅇter said, it seems to be the most commonly used / installed one :) Its certainly easy enough to use anyway
Wondering Soul Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 cPanel 11. Seems to come with almost every hosting plan... I'm using Plesk on one server though!
Tony Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 H-Sphere was good too, but now after SWSOFT was buy it i'm sure that they will screw it. :(
AndyF Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 H-Sphere was good too, but now after SWSOFT was buy it i'm sure that they will screw it. :( I have used H-Sphere (as a friend has this) but I struggled to get on with it really.
Guest karthost Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I have been in the hosting business since 2000. And over the years I have had the opportunity to test a lot of CP's. I started out with the Colbalt servers and the associated Cobalt CP, then I moved over to Ensim. I tired Plesk, HELM (for my windows servers and currently using), DirectAdmin, and the ever popular cPanel. But at the end of the day I wasn't looking to be part of the "popular" crowd, I was looking for a panel that the "less than average end-user" could learn in under 2 minutes. I was looking for a CP that was stable and solid and a STRONG emphasis on security. I was looking for a CP that is being developed by people that really enjoyed developing. I was looking for a CP that the company that owned the panel didn't have a "aire" about them. I was looking for CP that the support community really cared about the people that used their product and always are very helpful getting issues solved, and after a LONG search I finally found that CP, and its called InterWorx. I have been using it since September 2005 and never looked back, I only wished they would make a windows CP as well.
Darkside_RG_merged Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Webmin, its open source and if your running a dedicated you can just start your control panel when you feel you need it.
Bobsuch Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Used cPanel, Pesk and Directadmin. Just love cPanel, but currently using Directadmin as it uses less resources, and it's cheaper :P
yacenty Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 DirectAdmin and AdminPanel to keep my hosting business running
vivianeg Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 i have used , direct admin, cpanel , and plesk. now i use a custom cpanel. but on my servers next year i will use cpanel. :D
