Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
atsaunier Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I myself along with few of my member on my site thoguht it be cool if each member could customize and or skin there own profiles, like you would on myspace ect, but, i dont think they should bealowed to upload anytihng to it. Just an idea, im aware the idea could lead to possible option for hackers to post codes but imsure theres away around that orr sites like myspace would be hacked alot
Louis M. Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 With the current system in place I am not sure how easy it would be to enable it. I would like the ability to do this, at least for higher groups. With that said, though I would defiantly to block a list of html codes from being executed, or possibly even make it a white list where the admin would have to add allowable codes, there fore eliminating all HTML coding unless it is specifically allowed.Again though, I dont think this would be a very feasible option with the current skinning system and the security risks are vast. I know I do not allow HTML on my forums except on my admins and super mods. The potential harm from this could outweigh the benefits. I can almost see the support tickets and forum posts saying "I've been hax0red".
iMMENSE Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 This is a excellent idea and is exactly what [AH23] Socialiser currently does :)
