Could you be able to include an option where one can select if a forum can show or not its sub-forums?

Can you elaborate a little better, please? I don't fully understand your question.

The forum index displays all the sub-forums of the each forum and unfortunately when I try to select certain forums to have the option of display all the forums work simontaneously. It would be much efficient if sub-forums worked independantly from each other so I can choose which sub-forum can be seen and which one can be hidden to lower server congestion and speed up the forum as well.

For example:

IPS Company Feedback
Let us know how we are doing and how we can improve our products and services.
Subforums: IP.Board, IP.Gallery, IP.Blog, IP.Converge <- HERE

You want certain forums to display the sub-forums of it. Other forums (you want sub-forums), but you don't want the said sub-forums to be listed? Basically you want the option to 'hide' sub-forums of certain forums from the main forum index. Right?

Sounds useful at times - I do support this idea.

(BTW. Very remotely, this idea for "transparent" sub-forums goes in line with what I suggested here for threads: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=231647. It would make sense to have both options available at the same time.)
