.Ryan Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Good idea, for the naming I think its more appropriate. Whats the big deal about the ips_kernal file? And was it necessary to quote the whole thing. Also converge permissions need to be checked.
George M. Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I think it would be a nice idea to change the current names to the names posted by Working4computers.
stobbo Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Also a reorder might be nice like this:IP.BoardIP.BlogIP.GalleryIP.Download ManagerIP.ConvergeIPS Bug TrackerIPS ConvertorsIPS Kernel
elj Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 you do not know what the kernal isgo look in your 2.2.1 zip folder and see ips_kernal that is the core software that runs IPBThanks for quoting the entire post, there. (By the way, kernel is spelt with an 'e'. :))It doesn't really bother me that much, but I'd agree with the original poster. :) On another point, ouldn't the QA forum for Nexus be better suited as a subcategory of Nexus in itself, or does the bugtracker not support that / is there other reasons for it?
bfarber Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The bug tracker is not a forum - it's a component, and I don't believe it supports subcategorization (currently).Matt went through and renamed/reordered today.
elj Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 My bad. I knew it was a component, I just didn't think when I posted!
Michael Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The bug tracker is not a forum - it's a component, and I don't believe it supports subcategorization (currently).Matt went through and renamed/reordered today.I thought everything was supposed to be IP.something? The Blog, Download Manager, and Gallery are all IPB.something in the Bug Tracker now.
stobbo Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Better order now :)But I agree with Michael, shouldn't it be IP.Blog not IPB.Blog?
ellawella Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Better order now :) But I agree with Michael, shouldn't it be IP.Blog not IPB.Blog? No, because Blog is an add-on for IPB, hence Invision Power Board Blog.Same with Invision Power Board Gallery. However, different to Invision Power Converge.
stobbo Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 It says on http://community.ipslink.com/ IP.Blog and IP.Gallery.
ellawella Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 It says on http://community.ipslink.com/ IP.Blog and IP.Gallery.Seems they need to make their mind up then.
stobbo Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I believe just IP. would be better. Also I'd think they'd be some kind of Gallery with Dynamic, so IPB.Gallery would not be right for dynamic :PUnless they have IPB.Gallery and IPD.Gallery :P
Working4computers Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Right, Another suggestion for the Bug Tracker....Maybe a seperate section of all "dud" bugs. Meaning, that all support type bugs, which aren't actually bugs; instead of putting them as "Bogus" to remove them from that section and putting them somewhere else.... That way, the bug tracker only contains true bugs of the software.
stobbo Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 That would make sense. Also a IPS Site/Forum Bugs would be nice, to report spelling mistakes and things like that.
Brandon C Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 That would make sense. Also a IPS Site/Forum Bugs would be nice, to report spelling mistakes and things like that. That's what this is for in the meantime: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=230253
