Lets see what the poll says. I would really personally like it if you could remove ICQ, and add GTalk and a field marked custom. So the user inputs something like xyz IM and adds what ever it is. So that would benifit anybody. See the poll for information, anyone have any ideas to it?

That was my exact point of creating this, to better organize it and have people discuss what they would want. Also so the IPS see the poll, not just a bunch of comments about it. Most people will vote and not bother to post a comment, and thats fine, because the poll shows there idea.

I wouldn't use the gtalk thing because I use my gmail account soley for personal email and I don't hand it out over the internet.

I think it's a bit too late for that. Highly doubt that it will change. 2.2 is feature locked. The only thing I see changing, at all, is maybe changing "MSN" to "MSN / WLM". And with that most people recognize what MSN means anyway.

I think we should be able to add and remove them at the click of an option, and have plug-ins for more.

When you say Google Talk, I assume you mean a much broader Jabber ID, which supports Google Talk and a host of other IM services.

Thats what I ment, when is the IPS staff going to look @ this anyways. We have a good amount of poll votes.

I think we should just make all of the IM fields custom fields rather than having them built into the board. (As i have said many many times. :'()

I dont use Icq so its makes no difference to me I do have Msn but I dont enter that info only my friends have it.

Matt, that is exactly what I'd love to see. Precise admin control over all fields in the profile. Also, dictating where they go would be nice too.

Matt, I like the idea you said, why not just do it in the final release of 2.2 So when we get the final one, why not have that in already?
