Profile requirements

I have found it very strange that there is no way to require the default profile information such as birthdate, location, etc.

You'd need to do this as custom profile fields.

But then you have 2 of the same field ... unless you modify the skin not to show the stock field. I would think it would not be hard to allow the admin to choose to require the stock fields.
