.Cameron Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I know that a feature for automerging double posts has been added, but can there not be a time limit on it, or another option?
//Nathan Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 You can set the time limit ridiculously high. Mine's set to 48 hours. If you want to do the math, since it's in seconds, you could set it for 2 years. If you want to prevent old topics from getting bumped, see my suggestion about 'anchoring' topics (making them unbumpable but replyable via messing with the timestamp) and then add an option to auto-anchor after X days of no replies. But yeah, I second a "no time limit" option which would grey or null the seconds field, just make any two concurrent posts automerge. How about an admin tool, to automerge all topics by the selected groups... admins and mods (and thus, faq type threads) would be protected, but all double-posts in the database would be merged.
