Okay, here's the idea

let's say you only wanna check new posts in the General >Chat forum, or the technical chat.
Why not put a small link/icso in next to each forum AND catagory name/discription which shows only new posts made there. Of course I now that new posts are marked when you are entering a forum, but stil - could come in handy - at least the category-new-post.
