civ Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 When moderators edit a post and admins decide to take action against the user for what was posted, we have no idea what was in the post (only what the moderator tells us) because the original content is gone - we can only see what is left after the moderator edited it. Is it possible to have a sort of 'Edit History' where we can see a post's original content and where we can specify only admin access? We would really find something like this useful.
Anthony Timberlake Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I think if you go to topic history it explains this. Topic distory is in moderation options I believe.
civ Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Thanks Anthony, but I'm not finding that anywhere. Could you or someone else point me to where I should look?
Wazoo Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Standard 2.0.3 install ... go into Topic in question, looking at the page of postings .. scroll down to the bottom of the page, Moderation Options drop down list on left has an option "View Topic History (Admin Option)" ...
civ Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 That doesn't give me the original text of an edited post though - at least not on my standard 2.0.3 install...
AsterisK Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Sorry to bump an old thread, but this is something I've been wanting to implement on my own forum for about 3 years. I am without words as to how peeved off I get when my moderators go and blank out posts entirely.
Mark Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 This has been discussed before, I think it was believed it would use too much space in the database. For now though, I'd replace your mods if they can't follow a basic instruction ;) If anyone reports the post, the original post content will display the report center.
