I wish I had known there were reviews available sooner. It would have expedited my decision to go with Terabyte. He completed an upgrade for me and did some additional investigations on dated files. I think the thing that is most important to reflect here is the quality of service I received. It was impeccable. My technical limitations required a bit of patience on his part, and he was extremely professional about guiding me through the processes which required my attention. The service was completed more quickly that I had anticipated and to spec. His rates are extremely reasonable (I made inquiries with several vendors). A+++ service! Hopefully he's around for a while, as I will be leveraging his services in the future.

Yeah, I need to find a vendor to help with that. I'm afraid of blowing up the forum if I try to do it myself. Checking on syslogs... This is what was highlighted by the tasks issue: When I click on the View Tasks link I see that everything was "last run" today with the exception of a few that show "Not currently needed."

All my guest users are experiencing an EX0 error when they attempt to access any forum page. Any idea why this might be happening? Example: https://www.letsgosharks.com/forums/ (they should be seeing my forum home page which displays an index of my forums): I'm running v 4.4.9 There was also an alert (that I suppressed and won't be able to see until tomorrow) which mentioned there were some tasks that were not running because they are run when users visit my site, and this was the case because I had low user count (my forums are seasonal). Not sure if this is contributing to this issue.

OK I see that this is rendered on any page that an unsigned user tries to access 😞 Now I found the setting: So it is configurable. My issue now is why the EX0 error is being served to all guests.

A general usability question: Is there a setting to allow/block a guest from accessing forum content? I see there is a setting which prevents posting until the user is signed into a registered account. All guests to my forum are seeing this (and I would like for un-signed in users to be able to see the content - as a means to entice them to register): I'm not sure if this is associated with an alert I'm seeing on processes not running because my forum volume is too low. I'm currently running v 4.4.9

As in, I need to upgade my PHP instance on my web host? That's done automatically by my host if so.

Any idea what vendors charge for that service? And how does the auto file download work. I looked through the ACP and don't see any such option? Oh wait, please tell me it's as simple as clicking on this:

It was an IPS employee, but I don't recall who. I think I upgraded a couple of years ago. I'd certainly lean on IPS support if it's offered at no cost, rather than having to pay someone to do it.

I tried copying all the files from the upgrade package to a test directory, rather than to the existing directory where my current files reside. When doing that, I noticed that I would frequently see upload issues. I wasn't sure if there was a permissions issue or something else. Given that some files were copying suggested that it wasn't a permissions problem. Because of that, I'm hesitant to simply copy those files into that directory for fear of blowing something up and killing my existing files. I'm running v4.4.10 I'm currently running v4.4.10 The upgrade is to v4.7.13 Regarding the cloud platform option, I run the forum as a hobby. It's already a loss leader, so trying to keep costs down. Not a great excuse, but it's also one of the reasons I don't upgrade with every new release. I finally decided to take action on this latest version because I had overlooked a number of security updates, which I assume will bite me eventually.

When I first implemented my message board (IPS Community) several years ago, I was having issues with an upgrade. An IPS resource offered to handle the upgrade and did so successfully. Do they still offer that assistance? If not, are there vendors who will do it. I'm technical enough to handle simple tweaks to my install, but the latest upgrade I need requires the install (or update) or several files. I tried to get that done, but was unsuccessful and I'm afraid I'll blow up my forums instance.

OK new issue. I tried to initiate the upgrade, but it's failing. I downloaded the upgrade files to my server (into a subdomain to house the zip file). When I try to run the upgrade it, but get this error (https://www.letsgosharks.com/forums/admin/upgrade/?controller=license&key=***) Do I need to export the files, then copy them to a specific folder?
