Does Invision Community have a way to feature or list active forums?’ Im trying to get more visibility for my forum, and I was wondering if there’s an official directory or any way to have my forum showcased on the main Invision Community website.

If not, what are the best ways to promote my forum within the Invision ecosystem? Are there any built-in tools, SEO strategies, or recommended places to share my community? We do not have an official lit or directory of sites on invisions site at present. The invision platform is created to be SEO friendly. Ultimately how you promote your site is entirely up to yourself there. Of course, people may well give you their own strategies that they pursue to promote their sites here :)

There are a couple of topics you can post your community to gain some visibility.

If you are using version 5, someone has started a topic for their communities to be shared too.

When starting out, I used a little trick to backlink my website all over the web. Depending on what your community offers, you can search Google for snippets of what your site offers, then find other forums, news boards, Reddit, Facebook, etc., where people seek info your website offers. Create accounts on those sites, and paste your website links on those platforms. It's a lot of work, but It worked great for me then.

No harm is done by Piggybacking a ride from those who are already established 🙃.

I think the better question to first ask yourself is, does linking from a forum directory confer any contextual authority or relevance to your site? IPS is a community software developer - are you in the same field?

Or are you doing it for site discovery?

Google has become very good at figuring out irrelevant linking. Stuffing your site into mass directories is one of those forum legacy tactics from 20 years ago that I seriously question work well today. The only benefit that it offers for modern SEO is site discovery, which you can do anyways by submitting your sitemap to Google.
