I have the three types of emojis enabled in the editor settings. However, I only see emojis and icons. What about custom icons? How should I do to make it appear?

Custom icons are in Emojis tab on bottom.

Do you know then when the shortuts are not working? Do they work for you?

When I write :-) or xD they are not replaced with the custom emoji.

They are not working for me as well neither custom neither built in.

There are shortcuts for emojis, but they are not the short codes you are used to like those. type :smi for example

Those used to work in v4, but the feature broke with the v5 changes. I believe they have an open bug report (or feature request?) to re-add them.
