Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 17Mar 17 We had problems with email after changing servers, as it seems our server block has IP blacklisting in places. So we got a Sendgrid account so that we could get round this issue.I went to integrate it in the email section where I had seen the options before and now they appear to be missing. The only options are SMTP and PHP, and in integrations there are no Sendgrid options. I am fairly sure these existed until recently and googling would say they did. Any idea how I can get these back or re-enable them? Thanks
March 17Mar 17 Community Expert SendGrid was deprecated so is only available to those who used it prior as an integrated API option. However, you can still use SendGrid but over SMTP if you desire. Otherwise, we recommend PostMark now.
March 17Mar 17 Author ok - thanks, I will have to go down the SMTP route - postmark is too expensive to be an option.

Otherwise, we recommend PostMark now.Is there a reason PostMark is recommended over Sendgrid? We use Sendgrid across our company in multiple instances (not just forums).I noticed its deprecated, even though it has remained on our install even after upgrading (thanks). But is there a particular reason we should be investigating PostMark instead?

But is there a particular reason we should be investigating PostMark instead?I would like to know the reasoning behind this too. I use Sendgrid because it can be used across lots of domains, not just the 5 that Postmark offered.Plus, Sendgrid is significantly cheaper as volume increases.
Tuesday at 06:02 PM5 days Community Expert We ultimately saw that PostMark had a better and improved toolset over Sendgrid, with better deliverability so we made the change. If you don't see that really meeting the needs of your community, you can continue to use SendGrid or any other SMTP service you choose to really.
Tuesday at 08:34 PM5 days better and improved toolsetCould you expand on this please? better deliverabilityAgain, with a signficant amount of data being sent through Sendgrid, our deliverability has been flawless (with the right setup of course) - how would PostMark have "better" deliverability? We just to make sure we are not missing something.
Tuesday at 09:03 PM5 days Community Expert Could you expand on this please?I'm not quite sure what I can expand on other than what is already on their website 😊 Again, with a signficant amount of data being sent through Sendgrid, our deliverability has been flawless (with the right setup of course) - how would PostMark have "better" deliverability? We just to make sure we are not missing something. If you've had great deliverability, that is fine. You're more than able to continue using SendGrid as mentioned above 😊

This has been allowed since we closed our Marketplace.
