Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 11Mar 11 Hi!We had invisioncommunity 4.6.12.1 and we were unable to upgrade due to incompatibilities with other applications on the same machine. Now we have just migrated to a new server with Ubuntu and PHP 8.3.When we tried to do an automatic upgrade we were unable to continue due to incompatibilities with the PHP version, which is now too high.Would it be possible to do a direct upgrade to 4.7.20 while keeping the content of the forums that we currently have? Thanks!Laureano

If the automatic upgrade isn't working for you then you can do a manual upgrade. For more see the Upgrading section at the following link:https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/advanced-options/server-management/install-and-upgrade-r259/P.s. You must make sure that your php version is supported by Ipb 4.7.20 btw in order for the upgrade to work. Edited March 11Mar 11 by Miss_B
March 12Mar 12 Author Thanks, Miss_B and Marc, for the help; it's much appreciated and I'll keep it in mind. Our plan is to upgrade to 5.0.3 after upgrading to IPB 4.7.20, or would it even be possible to install 5.0.3 directly without going through 4.7.20?
