I can't start the update to the latest version. The screen keeps refreshing and showing the same thing.

Go manually to domain.com/admin/upgrade. You should get a login screen there.

Are you stating that the "Complete Upgrade" button ends in a redirect? If you go to {your-base-url}/admin/upgrade what is happening?

I tried before I posted the topic, but it refreshes and shows the same thing and the link changes to:

/admin/?app=core&module=system&controller=login&ref=

If you click the Complete Upgrade button it should take you straight to the upgrade page. That said, have you made a backup of the database? If you haven't yet, you can make one now before the upgrade has been run and started to alter the database.

We made a backup before. Now we're restoring it and I'll try again.

This would be unrelated and just an access log so doesn't really depict much of the 500 Server Error code shown.

Sounds good. Let us know if it happens again. You may wish to check your .htaccess rules.

After restoring the archive it shows this and does not want to continue nor can we enter the admin panelUpdate-in-progress--01-30-2025_06_08_PM.png

If you go to /admin/ you should be able to see the error outlined on a similar page.

/forums/admin/ shows the same as the post above :(

Can someone from support take a look, we'll pay for the support

Is there a way to download the version we were using, 4.7.19, upload it, and get our database back so it can be fixed?

Unfortunately, IPS provides only the latest version for download. You must have a copy of the 4.7.19 ZIP file somewhere (or retrieve a copy of the files from a backup).

Still, it's strange that the upgrade page redirects you to the admin login page instead. I've never seen it happen before. 🤔

Just to clarify, what PHP version are you using? I don't see it mentioned in the topic, but I know using PHP 8.2.0+ can cause strange issues.

Hello @teraßyte

Thank you for your reply. We are using PHP 8.3.16 with nginx + php-fpm
Do you need to provide you the nginx config file, or you can give me template for nginx config file and invisioncommunity?

Thank you very much for your time.

@kalin PHP 8.3.16 is definitely a problem. Try downgrading to PHP 8.1 and see if the upgrade works.

PHP 8.2+ is only supported by the new 5.0.0 version currently in beta.

We cannot downgrade to 8.1 version for security reasons. Please provide a link to download the previous version 4.7.19 ?

Somebody can help our case? Its a urgent situation.

That's... kind of a problem. As mentioned above, only PHP 8.0 and 8.1 are supported by version 4.7. Rather, I'm surprised you didn't notice issues before using 4.7.19 with PHP 8.3. 👀

We have been on 8.3 for over a year and have had no problems with previous updates.

For support, you'd need to be on 8.0 or 8.1

PHP 8.1 is still receiving security updates from PHP. Could you please explain why? https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

You would need to be on a supported PHP version for us to assist. Sorry, we do not provide any download version other than the latest.
