Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted January 6Jan 6 Hi, I want to solve a long term problem in our forum. We have problem with uploaded images, that are rotated only by the exif information. By uploading the image, forum sotware does not read the exif informartion to rotate them and the rotation is wrong. The result you can se here on our testing topic https://www.peugeot-club.com/topic/105090-test-vlozeni-obrazku/?page=11#comment-2150978 Can someone help? Thanks

January 6Jan 6 You would need to ensure you have the EXIF PHP extension loaded. Also please test these on our test forum to ensure its not the images. Same here: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/479702-mobile-photos-are-sideways/ We are running the same invision version as the user there. The only difference is the environment there
January 6Jan 6 Author @Marc If I upload this image to the testing forum here it is normal rotation If I post it on our forum it is rotated 😞 How can I test if the EXIF PHP extension is loaded?
January 6Jan 6 You would need to speak to your hosting company on this. We can tell you if its loaded, but not if its working, using the requirement checker here
January 6Jan 6 Author I have done the check, but seems to be OK https://www.peugeot-club.com/ips4.php Edited January 6Jan 6 by PeugeotClubCZ
January 6Jan 6 This being the case, you would need to contact your hosting company on the issue. As you can see from here, the software rotates correctly when reading the EXIF data, so it can only really be the EXIF part of things
March 16Mar 16 I am having the same problem, not me, but some of the users. This has nothing with version 4 or 5 right? It is a php problem? The sample picture are rotated wrong in or forum, but ok in this (test)forum.@PeugeotClubCZ Did the hosting solve it for you? If so, how?
March 17Mar 17 Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
