I used to use Sendgrid, but I moved over to SMTP.  The system has not sent an email out yet with SMTP - it just informed me of this.  🙂

I get the test email when I save the email settings, but if I click the "Test Settings" I get the error above.

I've already tried clearing System caches.

How do I break it to my system that Sendgrid and I broke up?

The latest patch (which I missed when I cleared the cache) fixed the issue.  

Overnight and it's back.  Same sendgrid error.  Anyone have any experience in this?

The error there is being returned from sendgrid. I would advise on asking them how best to resolve this issue, and if they can provide you with more information

I don't have sendgrid enabled.  I have SMTP enabled.   I think this would be on your end, something in the database not updating properly?

I'll go just back to Sendgrid for now.  I don't want to bother anyone on xmas Eve.  🙂

What are you using as your SMTP service? If it’s SendGrid still, the error is applicable.

I was using my own SMTP service - arrow.mxrouting.net .   It's not Sendgrid... it's something in my install that thinks I'm still using Sendgrid... 

Anyway, I've moved back over and things are working OK.  I'll troubleshoot after holidays.  

There are 2 settings for sendgrid

1. ACP => Integrations => Sendgrid
2. ACP => System => Email

Make sure that it's disabled on both.

That was it!  I never disabled it there.
