Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
marklcfc Posted October 12 Posted October 12 My site has been unresponsive for much of the last 24 hours. The CPU keeps going up to 100% and all my has said is the following, can someone help asap? The issue appears to be coming from the database "foxes_forums" as it makes queries that get stuck and cannot execute further. You need to review the database and fix the query that does not go trough. We can provide you with all the processes, however you would need to review and determine which is the one that gets stuck and causes the load.
Jim M Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Without knowing more information about what is going on here, such as the query or process in place it would be impossible to determine what the issue is. I would say, you would want to start with disabling any third-party items and just run the core software.
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 I've disabled all third party apps and it's still happening

Sorry, as it is the weekend, our sales team isn't around. Monday would be the first day that they are able to review and plan that out, but it would likely not be for a few days, depending on our queue.
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 I have an attachment of the sessions and processes but where do I send it? If I upload to here then everyone sees it

Jim M Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Would ensure that you are fully disabling third party applications/plugins. I am seeing quite a few references to non-Invision Community tables in the report provided. Specifically, tables like: topicmetaimage_images dp44banfromtopic_topics
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 Those have been turned off for a few hours and the problem has continued
Jim M Posted October 12 Posted October 12 The next issue is that query cache in MySQL is having issues. Your hosting provider would need to improve the performance of it or disable it. 1 minute ago, marklcfc said: Those have been turned off for a few hours and the problem has continued If the recent logs provided are recent, they have not been fully disabled.
Jim M Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Just now, marklcfc said: What query cache? As mentioned, this is a part of MySQL.
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 So what do I ask? There's been not a single issue in years until the last 24 hours and I've not changed anything

As it is locking up your database as it is not performing well. As mentioned, nothing has changed in 24 hours in the software so this would have been a server change.
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 I've asked them but not heard back yet. It's not crashed as much since I uninstalled those two plugins but the cpu still goes up occasionally
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 Well I thought it had but nothing really has changed
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 (edited) Its absolutely not improving nothing is loading I have no idea what I can do now Edited October 12 by marklcfc
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 (edited) No support from hosts and nothing to go off here either, apart from go back to hosts who send me back here so what do I do? I've even asked to join cloud and got nothing back Edited October 12 by marklcfc
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 I’m in that position where hosts say it’s a site issue and developers say it’s a host issue
Jim M Posted October 12 Posted October 12 I’m sorry you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place but we have outlined the issue to you. If your host doesn’t want to do either of what we suggested, there is nothing we can do. We also explained as it is the weekend, it won’t be till Monday that we are able to evaluate the queue for migrations. Meddysong 1
marklcfc Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 They’ve turned the query cache off. From what I can tell so far it’s stopped the whole site being unresponsive and cpu being stuck at 100% for long periods of time, but it’s still using a lot of cpu and spiking up to 100 regularly which never happened until yesterday
