[4.7.11 Beta 1] Word expansion issue when using quotes (single or double)

Note: tested on earlier versions too; same occurs.

  1. Login to the ACP
  2. Naigvate to System => (Settings) Posting -> Word Expansion
  3. Create an entry
    1. Type: Acronym
    2. Word: Test
    3. Expansion: "Test"
  4. Click Save
  5. Result: saves fine
  6. Edit the entry
  7. Click Save
  8. Result: Nada, nothing, zilch!!
  9. Change expansion to something else: sausage (for example)
  10. Click Save
  11. Result: Nada, nothing, zilch!!

Repeat same with 'test' instead of "test".

    Do you have a WAF or mod_security which may be preventing submission of special characters on edit? On my test 4.7.11, I am not encountering this with the expansion having double or single quotes.

    Of interest - try it in Firefox. Works fine in Chrome. (both on Windows 11)

    Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

    This issue has been resolved in our recent 4.7.14 release of the platform. Please upgrade to resolve the issue, and if you see any further problems at that point, please let us know.
