Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 27, 20213 yr 1. Option for an index and no index no follow per forums / clubs /articles and pages. 2. Unique custom URLS without numbers. 3. The option to add meta titles and meta descriptions per forum post / clubs / pages already have it but could be better. 4. Block members by default for search engines, no data should be Indexable for members. 5. Full sitemap Control 6. Image alt tags 7. Banners should be different per forum and clubs etc to avoid dupes 8. Canonical Urls 9. Link follow and no follow options on posts, even though Google can now follow regardless, they still honour the no follow attributes in good faith 10. Schema mark up Edited September 27, 20213 yr by SEO Guru
September 27, 20213 yr 4. Block members by default for search engines, no data should be Indexable for members. Why this if i may ask?
September 27, 20213 yr Author Why this if i may ask? I don't see the benefit for members to be indexed especially when not everyone wants their profile to be. This needs better controllability and should be an option. Also you would rather the content be the primary index, after all this is why people come to your forum.
September 27, 20213 yr This needs better controllability and should be an option. This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can set it so that profiles are only accessible by logged in members under permissions in System.
September 27, 20213 yr 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 also I would add the ability to setup an SEO / Social Network portrait image to each thread
October 4, 20213 yr Author This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can set it so that profiles are only accessible by logged in members under permissions in System. It's a good recommendation however we should have the ability to block search engines following these areas. Edited October 4, 20213 yr by SEO Guru
