Recently videos, including YouTube videos, starting autoplaying for some members.

Is there a way to stop that?  I don't seen a setting for it on embedding.

If you paste the video URL ( https://youtu.be/yfxDI14WUaQ ), it won't auto start.

If you post the embed URL, there's  a parameter to auto start, exemple:

<iframe width="763" height="429" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yfxDI14WUaQ" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Not sure if this is the case or how you're posting.

No one has access to post anything but a YT link.  A couple of people said this is happening.  Could it be an iPhone thing?  I don't have access to one.

Let me test.

EDIT: Not auto starting, at least here. Not sure why it would for a few users.

Tested on iPhone.

Take a look:

On asking internally, we are not doing anything specific here relating to the auto play of video. It also seems this is only happening since updating iOS. So unfortunately, it would seem its an iOS issue here, rather than one with the software.

FWIW, I had no change in this iOS setting from 14.8 to 15.

Thank you both, I'll let people on my site know.  We post many videos, one person woke their wife early in the morning while viewing the site.  🙂
