Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted August 20, 20213 yr Hi all, I need some help explaining why I can't set up a test forum. I'm pretty noob when it comes to the workings behind the Invision forum & applications and terminology so I hope the person replying here can have a bit of patients with me. - I recently changed to another hosting company. - I kept my URL/ domain name. - I deleted my old test forum on the previous old host. - I set up a new test forum, with a brand new install at the exact same URL as the old test forum. - I read the install and upgrade instructions. According to these instructions, as long as I use the same URL, domain I can (re)set up a test forum. Yet I'm not allowed to recreate my test forum. So, uhm, where do I err in my thinking I could?
August 20, 20213 yr Generally the only explanation there would be that you are indeed not installing at the exact same location, or that you are not using the test key. Looking at what you have on your licensed test URL, could I confirm you are including the www? This is the most common mistake there. If not please let us know and we can continue via ticket

Our license server checks the exact URL as you are licensed by it.

August 20, 20213 yr Author Solution Aaand now it suddenly works without me changing a thing. Maybe it was caching thing and I was too quick between deleting the old and creating a new test forum but it accepts my licencekey-TESTINSTALL now! Thank you all for chiming in and giving me a piece of your time.💪 Cheers!
