Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 2, 20213 yr Hi, How do you assign field to a member group? At registration stage, user can select which member group to register. Different registration form for each member group. Let say I have 2 member groups, doctors & engineers. Doctors will register at registration form call Doctor and engineer will register at registration form call Engineer. Within Doctor form, their profile field will have a check box set for their expertise (Anesthesiologists, Cardiologists, Dermatologists, etc...). And profile field for Engineer registration form will have a check box set for their expertise (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Structure, etc...) And how do we make a user list for it? Doctors or Engineers where we can search, sort & filter by their expertise, location, rating, etc... Thanks 😊 Edited May 2, 20213 yr by Umaar

Instead of an overcomplicated registration process with several usergroups and tons of profile fields, I would set up two kinds of directories (one for engineers and one for doctors), for example something like this https://invisioncommunity.com/third-party/providers/
August 19, 20213 yr Community Expert There isn't any way in which to really do what you are asking directly there. As mentioned above, you would be much better to have a database which is built specifically for that purpose
