September 13, 20195 yr The Gallery allows uploads of movie and image files, so yes it can work as a video gallery. It does not accept video embeds though (eg. YouTube or Vimeo).
September 26, 20195 yr what do you mean it does not accept embeds? looks like thats all it does is accept embeds.
September 26, 20195 yr Gallery only accepts raw uploads of movie files, no embeds from Youtube or Vimeo etc
September 26, 20195 yr Mike's Videos System has always been a great app and filled the void but it has to be said that embedding videos with a thumbnail via API into Gallery has been a really popular request for many years and honestly, despite it seemingly being a bit of a no brainer, I still can't believe IPS haven't yet provisioned it. I think the closest we ever got was Matt (years ago) saying it was a good idea and he'd look into it. Why anyone in modern times would prefer or opt to store potentially huge HD and 4K video files themselves instead of embedding them remotely from a video hosting/streaming specialist like Vimeo, JWPlayer, Brightcove, YouTube etc is almost beyond me, unless of course it was content that would breach the rules of most video hosting providers. If so then I'd recommended to host via cloud hosting instead of local web server storage, especially since SSD based storage is now pretty standard for web-hosting but storage space is still considerably smaller than traditional hard disks. Even animated gifs are better provided by services such as Gippy, Guggy etc. Surely half the work is already done because you can embed video via the text editor content and the video hosting companies make it easy to embed their files on their end.
September 28, 20195 yr By watching the video on this add on it looks as if it is creating a gallery of embedded videos. You are saying it uploads the entire video? if so that dumb and ill pass

And basic html5 video playback but nothing like the self hosted aspect of Youtube. here the dev is saying its embeds only, so i am totally confused with this statement... I was talking about Gallery, the IPS app. The app only allows direct uploads of video.
