We already use Square ( https://squareup.com ) as our payment processor.  Can you add Square to the available payment methods for the Commerce add-on?

What does square have that stripe doesn't? (When using it with the Commerce app)

It's probably not specifically about the feature set for most people, I'd guess. It's about allowing those of us with an existing Square merchant account to use it here as well. Having to use two different merchants is a serious pain and can be somewhat expensive for those who have paid for infrastructure with Square.

Both Square and Stripe are popular with small business and having both would make IPS Commerce more useful out of the box. 

I actually like the fact that I can create invoices easily in my Square account as well as create new customers easily and send invoices via email and copy myself.  I agree that having both stripe accounts and having square accounts are difficult to manage.  I also would love to be able to switch my Invision Communities over to Square.

Any news on having square as a payment gateway?  I'm dropping stripe for reasons I wish not to discuss here.

This could be done. They have a fairly well documented DEV area and API

Does anyone have any update on this? I would really like to use Square and haven't seen any indications of it being added.
