How does our picks and featured work?

I tried to find some guides and also used the search function but didnt get a grasp on how to use those functions.

Our Picks is part of the new 'social media promotion' feature where you can promote a content (eg. a forum post or gallery album) to Facebook, Twitter, or Our Picks.  Our Picks is a new page dedicated to promoted items.

I am also looking for information on how to use this but I am coming up empty too. That post by Matt doesn't explain how to actually set this up.

I have spent the last hour looking for some kind of documentation on how to use this feature and I am still none-the-wiser. Either I am incredibly dense or this is like an easter egg hunt in the Matrix. 

I looked in ACP first using the search you suggested. I turned the feature on there. However I don't see anything else on how to make featured content appear in email footers, or even how to select which content to make appear. ?

There is not much else. You turn our picks on and if you do, you can (with the necessary permissions) add content to the “picks”, which can post it to social media and makes it appear on the our picks page. 

There is a setting “Include promoted content in emails?” to also have it in emails. Which elements are shown there is automatic.

Seriously? I turned it on in ACP and I see nothing else. Where do I find this "include promoted content in emails" setting? Searching for it gets me this: 

Nothing other than Downloads. 

When I look at any content I don't see a green plus button that other members are talking about either. Did I swallow the wrong colour pill at the beginning of this journey?

I have that on, but the other part of the puzzle is where do I 'promote' content? There's nothing I can see that allows this to happen.

Nevermind. I can now see there is a promote button on the tops of posts. geez, they really need to provide documentation for new features. This is not something obvious that most people will figure out. 

Found the Our Picks page, but even after switching on the include link for emails they do not appear in there. Do I have to flip another switch in some other arb location?

Careful. “I didn’t figure it out so most people won’t figure it out” is not a logical conclusion.

Oh, I can figure out most things, but this was not something the Ministry Of The Bleedin' Obvious would have in their portfolio. Invision needs to employ somebody who is not a developer who can explain where the logical mind would look for things. 

BTW, the feature still isn't showing up in my email footers. ?

Turns out my email wrapper modification had to be undone. Now it's working on the emails. 

I would like to change the aspect ratio of the included image. It's cropping off too much when displayed on the Our Picks page. Is there any way of doing this?
