gabs007 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I read here. Quote Ability to join any OAuth service for login management. Invision Community can now be an OAuth endpoint. Wordpress OAuth login method built in. I'm very curious and interested about How this is supposed to work. Will I be able to add or share user's login and password from an IPS forum and a wordpress site ? even if they are in different domains and servers ? How easy is this supposed to be ? or it will require some coding in wordpress ?
Mark Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Quote Will I be able to add or share user's login and password from an IPS forum and a wordpress site ? Yes. In either direction. Quote even if they are in different domains and servers ? Yes Quote How easy is this supposed to be ? Very. It's a similar process to setting up Facebook / Twitter / etc login currently is - though for Wordpress you'll also need to install a Wordpress plugin. Quote or it will require some coding in wordpress ? No It's cool, right? We'll have a blog entry with more details soon!
Management Matt Posted January 5, 2018 Management Posted January 5, 2018 I'll just copy and paste that as the blog and maybe add in some gifs and we're good.
jair101 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Does this replace the functionality offered by the two WP bridges on the marketplace? Or lets say...mostly replaces, because they have other features like API, Group sync, user import, etc.
Joy Rex Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 @jair101 - I would think it "mostly replaces", as OAuth I think only does authentication; I'm not sure it can carry other metadata.
David.. Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 This sounds cool, like the current Marketplace app: Wonder if it's possible to migrate/replace the app with IPS built in Oauth now.
