Hi, is it possible to send private messages to entire group ?

There's no provision to send a mass PM to a Group, unfortunately. I see Adriano already posted the 3rd-party solution.

However, we do have Bulk Mail, which allows you to send email to a Group or Groups.

So I am not crazy.  This was a central point of IPB 3.4..... why the heck was it removed for 4.X?

Probably is. Mass/bulk PM never was a feature in any IP.Board version. There was a mod for IP.Board 2.X and 3.X.

You probably are confusing it with BULK MAIL!

No, I mean I was fairly certain I could of send a PM to a group, ie had a group set up for "vendors".... was able to select that.... no? lol.

Nope, it never was a feature.
