GoAncestry Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Any chance this is going to get done. I am a broken record, but this was discussed over a year ago as something that would return in a later update. Two things desired here. 1. A block that calls a single random image from a designated gallery or album, then leaves the image displayed for a period of time, say 20 seconds, then changes the picture to another random from the designated area. 2. A block that calls a set number of RANDOM pictures from a designated gallery or albums and displays them on page. Just a RANDOM filter vice our current selection of sorted filters.
GoAncestry Posted January 4, 2017 Author Posted January 4, 2017 bump This was brought up originally in August of 2015 with a comment it would be done as time permitted? Is that still the case or is this a wont do?
Management Lindy Posted January 9, 2017 Management Posted January 9, 2017 I'm marking it planned, however, it will likely be summer or later before this is further considered.
GoAncestry Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 Lindy, thank you very much. This was an exceptional feature in 3.x Our users really appreciated it and enjoyed seeing the variety of images it presented while they browsed the site.
GarethM Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I have quite a large gallery on my Invision board too, I'm very much looking forward to a random images feature to show more of the images to visitors and to entice them to click through and take a look at the full gallery.
LiquidFractal Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 As Pericles said to the Athenians, "+1 to everything here"
rgf100 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Rather than just gallery / albums, maybe also let it take images from attachments to blogs and forums. We have photoblogs and a sub-forum where people post images of things they have questions about - this would be an ideal addition.
