Auto-generated thumbnails in gallery?

Featured Replies

I'm just curious: Is there a way to have the gallery automatically generate thumbnails for movie files? Ie YouTube automatically generates a few you can pick from, so you don't have to upload your own.

No, in fact IP.Gallery really isn't even designed for embedded video.

You should check out VideoBox by @onlyME, who offers a full-featured video application

Then what the heck is it designed for? Lol. Seems pretty useless then...

You know those things like videos but kind of not moving? Photos I believe they're called.

<_< I know. It should be called 'photos' then, not gallery.

I'm hoping they allow video embeds soon!

Did you mean thumbnails for uploaded videos though?

It's difficult to do much with video uploads without some specialized infrastructure unfortunately (unless you upload them to YouTube and then display them). It's something we've mulled over before, but isn't a high priority at the moment.

How do you display YouTube videos in the gallery? I thought it wasn't possible.
