bfarber Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Most customers running 1.3 right now do not require technical support from us. ;)
Taylor J Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Most people that are running 1.3 - 3.0.x are most likely sites that have private web developers that do bug fixes for them and keeps their site running smoothly.
Heyhoe Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 For some reason I was under the impression that support for 3.1 had stopped. Not sure why! I did think it was a little early to be stopping support for it  I think a few people feel they have to upgrade to get the bug fixes though. Which then usually introduces more bugs because of new features. So there never seems to be a truly fully stable release.. (Yes I know there will usually always be something, but within reason)

Often times a manual fix requires 3 small template editors, 3 new language strings, and minor (or major) edits to various source files. It isn't feasible. In the time we'd take to write it up and test it we could have fixed 20 other bug reports. For small issues, we occasionally do provide quick patches in the tracker, especially if the issue is important. Typically though, it's simply not realistic. And is the same reason virtually no software companies do this.

When, hopefully, 3.3 would have been out for a few months.
