I want it back, as it was in ver. 2.x
Going through user control panel to do it is a major pain.

It's not in 2.x either.

Thirded. I'm surprised this isn't already in there. As much as I like the extra ad revenue from people clicking back to the forum to unsubscribe, I'd rather not annoy people.

Also, one would think that an unsubscribe link would be required under the CANSPAM act. But I'm not a lawyer.

I operate in NZ and technically I am supposed to have one by law, as required in their new anti spam regulations.
So please put me down for this feature too.

Being that a forum is not a mailing list I don't think that this is correct.

As for the topic itself I believe you can (at least until it's implemented as standard) add it manually into the email template. Also, to make this even clearer, I don't believe there is a way to unsubscribe via a link. You can link a member to the notifications tab in the profile and they can manually turn off their notifications.

If you need help with this I suggest a post in Peer to Peer. ;)

Of course, there is. vBulletin has that option.

Most other sites that send me mail also include the ability to unsubscribe from such notices within that same email via a clickable link. Seems silly that it is not done here. I also would like to see this changed for the future.
