Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
July 14, 200915 yr I think it's good that it isn't using ajax, that there is a little time-pain to update your status. Otherwise folks would use it as a shoutbox!
July 16, 200915 yr Author any words from officials? not really attractive for members if one line of text reload whole page..
July 16, 200915 yr I don't really think the refresh is a big deal, but we may ajax it at some point, I don't really know right now. The best I can tell you right now is that we will consider it :)
July 16, 200915 yr Something other people have already touched on, but I think you guys have unintentionally created a built-in shoutbox with this.
July 16, 200915 yr The problem is really the refresh... But it's look like Facebook and it's appreciated by french poeple ! it's a good way to go !

July 17, 200915 yr Author just curious IPB use manay ajax around, but why make this NOT ajax? do you try to "avoid" from letting it conflict with shoutbox? fresh is of course a big deal, otherwise why IPB use ajax so much XD?
July 17, 200915 yr [quote name='ikillbill' date='16 July 2009 - 09:44 PM' timestamp='1247795055' post='1827549'] just curious IPB use manay ajax around, but why make this NOT ajax? do you try to "avoid" from letting it conflict with shoutbox? fresh is of course a big deal, otherwise why IPB use ajax so much XD? It's not like they went out of their way to have it not use ajax, I just think they didn't forsee that folks would want to have it work like a Shoutbox (since that's not what it's intended to be).
July 17, 200915 yr Not every form submission needs to use ajax in my opinion. I'm fine with a good ol "submit to server, refresh page" form submission now and then...

July 18, 200915 yr I'm not really sure what it is any more, it does look like people are using it as a "shoutbox" whether that was the intention or not. PS i'm all for ajax myself :P

July 24, 200915 yr Just saying for you guys, these guys created a Multi Account Twitter Tweeter in four days, which to me basically shows that Twitter can't be hard to do with the right stuff and right knowledge. It shouldn't be that hard for the experts to try to integrate IPB and Twitter together.
