TSP Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Hi, I believe that you in the future should add more trash can options, since the trash can is quite special. While I do want moderators to see the trash can, I dont want them to be able to edit or delete posts when they are located in the trash can. But I still want them to be able to move back posts or topics for example. Therefore I atleast think it should be possible to choose what moderator alternatives that can be used by moderators and/or administrators in the trash can.
Ryan H. Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Setting the trash can as read-only would cover at least being able to post or edit posts in the forum.
CalendarOfUpdates Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Can't you already do that with the per forum moderator settings?
TSP Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 No. 1) They wouldn't have the possibillity to move posts 2) That would require me to choose the moderator groups to be able to moderate all the forums, expect the trash can.

It is a setting to allow them to do what you want while still preventing them from editing posts in the TrashCan. Now if they are smart, they move the post to a forum the have edit powers in and edit the post. 2 - Bingo, that is why those options are there and is what you are requesting. Select the forum and set the group's mod powers ( you realize you can mass do that from one screen, right).

I could be wrong, but if you have a group of global moderators, I don't think you can limit their abilities selectively.

You can edit Global's mod powers per forum.

CalendarOfUpdates Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Humm, well you can prevent them from editing and deleting a post per forum. Looks like the system will allow them to delete a topic though even if they don't have rights in that forum... bug maybe.
bfarber Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 You can't limit a super (global) moderator. You can limit forum moderators, however. You could, as someone else pointed out, create a group that has access to the trash can, and make the group a full moderator of all forums. Then add that group a second time as a moderator of the trash can, but with only move permissions.
