Tony Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I think it's better to submit a support ticket. :)
Pete T Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrorm...servererror.htm this will help you with all problems
Stars25 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 that would help but i need to know how to fix the problem when it in this directory /home/chaosmod/public_html/forum when it in the forum directory
AndyF Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 It might be best to ask your host about a 500 error as they will be able to find the cause and fix it quickly i would of thought :)
Stars25 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 yea i was thinking about that but i want to learn myself how to do it and would like to do somethng wihtout asking my host because dont really like my host either.so does anyone know how to ?
AndyF Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I think you would need access to the error logs (not sure which ones probably apache) to determine the error
Stars25 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 i know where the error is and everything i just dont know how to fix it
AndyF Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 What does the server error log say ? :) I`l move your topic to "Server Management, Resources And Optimization" as its not really a specific IPB issue by the sounds of it.
Stars25 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 EDIT:NVM I GOT IT my forums folder was chmod to 777 and i had to change it to 755
AndyF Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Can you set the permission on that directory to 755 ?
cooldude7273 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Can't CHMOD anything to 777 when you have suphp or phpsuexec installed! (Which I'm assuming you do because it will cause 500 errors when things are 777'ed.)
