November 26, 200717 yr that would help but i need to know how to fix the problem when it in this directory /home/chaosmod/public_html/forum when it in the forum directory
November 26, 200717 yr It might be best to ask your host about a 500 error as they will be able to find the cause and fix it quickly i would of thought :)
November 26, 200717 yr yea i was thinking about that but i want to learn myself how to do it and would like to do somethng wihtout asking my host because dont really like my host either.so does anyone know how to ?
November 26, 200717 yr I think you would need access to the error logs (not sure which ones probably apache) to determine the error
November 26, 200717 yr What does the server error log say ? :) I`l move your topic to "Server Management, Resources And Optimization" as its not really a specific IPB issue by the sounds of it.
November 26, 200717 yr EDIT:NVM I GOT IT my forums folder was chmod to 777 and i had to change it to 755
November 27, 200717 yr Can't CHMOD anything to 777 when you have suphp or phpsuexec installed! (Which I'm assuming you do because it will cause 500 errors when things are 777'ed.)
