Posted October 9, 200717 yr Will there be a road map for IPB 3.0? Many members wait to learn the present present development status for the IPB 3.0. Unfortunately, there is far too few information about it.
October 10, 200717 yr Supposedly they will be adding a bunch of cool features, such as *this*, *that*, *here*, and *there*.Just kidding, I don't know. As Brandon said, IPS doesn't generally release roadmaps any more since when they did in the past; certain competitors would go and copy IPS's ideas and put them into their own products.
October 10, 200717 yr We do not generally release roadmaps Supposedly they will be adding a bunch of cool features, such as *this*, *that*, *here*, and *there*.Just kidding, I don't know. As Brandon said, IPS doesn't generally release roadmaps any more since when they did in the past; certain competitors would go and copy IPS's ideas and put them into their own products.I can understand this. However, fellow applicants can copy also after the appearance of IPB 3.0. Can members then learn at least what the present layer of the development of IPB 3.0 is like? How much per cent of the developments 100 per cent, are ready?
October 10, 200717 yr I cannot say, as I do not work for IPS. But i guess with the releases of Nexus and finalising Converge, not much has been done on IPB 3
October 10, 200717 yr We are presently focusing our energies on our other offerings. IPB 3 will follow the release of those other products.
October 10, 200717 yr Let's just hope IPB v3 is as much of an improvement as v2 was.Seems to me there is not much more that could even be added to IPB. :)

October 10, 200717 yr You'd be surprised what can be added ;) AND changed.I hope that before the 3.0 release, will be released the bug fix release 2.3.2....Iam waiting since four months, is so hard release a bug fix?? I think that someone are not working well.

October 10, 200717 yr You'd be surprised what can be added ;) AND changed.I will look forward to it!I'm hoping for 100% valid XHTML and SEO optimization! :)
October 10, 200717 yr Millar, I have a good feeling that will make it, SEO is pretty important nowadays, and seeing they already started xHTML, they are already at about 80%, not much left to do :)
October 10, 200717 yr There are actually some templates which have <br> in them instead of <br />. One of the top of my head is the report form.
October 10, 200717 yr IPS needs more employees. We want a new version of IPB every 6 months. It is terrible to die before the definite completion given as an ultimatum of the IPB (12.0?) :P
October 10, 200717 yr YOU want a release every 6 months. MOST of our customers do NOT however. :)If it was warranted, we could do a release as frequently as we wished. It simply isn't however. Most of our customers do not like updating every month or two for bug fixes and a few new features.
October 10, 200717 yr Oh yes, I check only the main forum page :)I'm sure there are many more pages than that?
October 10, 200717 yr Nearly all pages validate as xhtml transitional upon initial installation. Once content starts getting added, that changes.
October 11, 200717 yr I hope that before the 3.0 release, will be released the bug fix release 2.3.2....Iam waiting since four months, is so hard release a bug fix?? I think that someone are not working well.Oh, grasshopper! You are very, very funny.
October 11, 200717 yr WOW, v3.0 is already in development?A lot have been changed since I moved to vBulletin side.
October 11, 200717 yr Nearly all pages validate as xhtml transitional upon initial installation. Once content starts getting added, that changes.I personally find it somewhat unusual that the parser creates non-validating output though. I can see why emoticons are a bit harder to work with due to the need to unparse them correctly, but what about escaping ampersands in URLs and such?On a slightly unrelated note, I wonder if it's possible to integrate something like HTML Purifier into the parser (as an add-on rather than by default)...
October 11, 200717 yr YOU want a release every 6 months. MOST of our customers do NOT however. :)They don't?? When did we have this discussion?
October 11, 200717 yr They don't?? When did we have this discussion? It is based upon common feedback presented on our site and via our client area. Some customers certainly do. Most customers do not want releases that frequent. Besides that, we work on more than just IPB, and are not going to be able to pump out a huge major update every couple months, regardless.
