Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
TestingSomething Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 The topic with the features list is outdated, as a few new things were added, and some were taken out. (such as the image resizing which I need and 2 people complained about it so it was taken out and me ignored on how to put it back in).
AtariAge Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I would like to see an accurate list of new features for the forum, blog, and gallery. When I upgrade, I'd like to have this list to post on my forum so my users can see what's changed (taking out any admin-related features, of course). Do such lists exist? Thanks, ..Al
TestingSomething Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Well most of them from the link in the latest news topic are still in it, I believe. There have been other changes too though. Hmm, I really mainly remember the reason for edit one though, which is more an admin feature. Fast reply editor redone, but that is obvious. There have ebena few additions I just can't remember and I am unsure if anything was added after RC3, but I am guessing not.
TestingSomething Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Umm now the images are resized again in sigs apparently? I was whining about that in this topic, but I noticed on my site apparently it was put back in. I am confused...
bfarber Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 This comprehensive list is still 99% accurate:http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=226814Any additions were posted in the subsequent notices:http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=227161http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=227763http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=228477http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=228907http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=229180
Sam A Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Why couldn't you just put them into one with the actual 2.0 announcement? IPS' announcements severely lack in comparison to Jelsoft's for example, that's about the only thing I feel they have over IPS. I'm sure there were other changes that weren't documented.
zippy Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 could we have a change list for css and other items related to skinning please.
.KX Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Oh no! Jelsoft have better announcements than IPS! IP.Board is doomed.I mean, sure it would be nice if IPS'd update the announcement and keep it all in one topic but who really cares? Bfarber already gave a bunch of links. ;)

Bfarber already gave a bunch of links. ;)Perhaps instead of trying to be a smart alec with your hyperbolic reply, you should remember that I also added:that's about the only thing I feel they have over IPS.A first time visitor to these forums, looking to purchase IPB for example, will visit the latest announcement pertaining to the latest release to see what features IPB has etc, all I'm saying is IPS' announcements seem very thrown together, as if not a lot of thought has gone into them.
AtariAge Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I agree that a comprehensive list of changes since the last version should be included with any new release. It's pretty standard for companies to post or include a "change list" when they put out a new version of software. Most people are not going to dig through several disparate threads to try to piece this information together themselves, nor should they have to. Nor will everyone even know where to look for this information. I think this is one area where Invision can use some improvement. ..Al
TestingSomething Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Also I am sure some things have not been mentioned for blog and gallery changes. Most releases said nothing about their new features.I believe blog had a new setting put in to decide if default entries are published or drafts. I dont think thatw as mentioned in announcements, but mentioned in his blog on this site.
RTM Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I agree - a comprehensive (and updated) list of significant features changes for the RTM version of 2.2.1 is needed... (as others, I would use it to highlight improvements in a PR to my community members where I run IPB...)Rob
TestingSomething Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 This is annoying. Somehow that sig pic resizing feature was back when i upgraded to 2.2.0 and now it is suddenly not happening again when I ahven't even changed anything. So I have no clue if it's supposed to be in or not! And when I ask how to get it back in, nobody answers me. *sigh*
Cheule Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I upgraded my board and I noticed that having clickable IP's in the Who's Online area was not available :(
