Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted October 14, 200618 yr I have some suggestions for the next version of IPB  1. I still think this should be added for member security http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...=176146&hl=2. I visit a forum that uses SMF 1.1 RC3 and a feature I saw would be quite useful in my opinion is when you make a reply using the quick reply or the normal method and if someone else posts before you do you will then be taken back to the posting screen and it gives a warning message that someone has replied to the topic please review you post and you are given the option to post, preview or cancel your post. I find this very handy being on dialup yet. It gets frustrating to me when I reply to a topic only to find out someone else has posted before me and I posted the same thing lol. So I think this would be a useful feature in IPB :) 3. When searching for topics or post made by a certain member allow members to list the search results by the forum the topics or posts were made in and/or beable to search within the search results for specific words kind of like the seatch the topic/forum feature.4. Have an option for when new members signup the need to make a X amount of reply posts before they can start posting topics. What do you think guys? :)
October 15, 200618 yr I like your first suggestion and would definitely like to see the password security feature in IPB, +1. :)
October 26, 200618 yr Those are some great suggestions man. I definitely think the second one is great, even for me on high-speed. If I spend a lot of time typing out my post or I go somewhere for a few minutes and come back before I post, I'd like to know if I missed anything before I reply.Personally the first one would piss me off because I hate it when those things tell me my password isn't strong enough. And number four would be a nice option I suppose. I don't think I would use it but I'm sure that somebody would.

I think its good for new members since alot of people dont know how to make good passwords.
