I tried searching but did not see what version of php is recommended for v5.x.

I was on 8.0 and having EXIF issues after upgrading, my host said EXIF is working fine and suggested I upgrade to 8.1. I had the same issues with images (different post - already being looked at).

In the ACP I see I should be on 8.2 or higher. I updated to 8.2. I can go to 8.4.

What is the highest version recommended?

  • Version 4 supports only PHP 8.0 or 8.1.

  • Version 5 supports PHP 8.1+.

    I am on 8.2 now, is 8.4 approved, and better for v5.x??

    Version 5 supports PHP 8.1+.

    8.1 up to 8.3. 8.4 isn’t supported yet, AFAIK.

    I've seen people post a few times saying they're using PHP 8.4.3, but I haven't checked myself if everything works.

    Based on some replies I've seen, there were bugs that have been fixed for it, so I suppose it should(?) work with 8.4, too.
