Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 20Feb 20 I have a brand new user, just joined, has never posted in the forum, how has posted two images in the gallery (that are waiting for approval). These are the only two images in the Gallery, and they are inside a category called 'Member Albums'. They are legit images, from a legit user (not spam). Thing is, no one has ever used the Gallery app on my website, not even myself, and it is not accessible from any navigation menu. How could that user have had access to it? The only thing I can think of is that they could have typed my domain name and added /gallery at the end... but that doesn't sound really realistic so I'm wondering if there's some other place where they could have mistakenly been directed to post an image in the gallery. I'll probably just disable the Gallery from now on (I don't need it) but I'm just curious how this could have happened. Thanks!
February 20Feb 20 Community Expert They may well have hit your site directly from that link if they have picked it up from google perhaps. As you said, you would be best to disable it if not using that application
February 20Feb 20 Author Thanks Marc however I just checked Google Search Console and that page is not indexed in Google. It's a mystery.
February 20Feb 20 Author Have you asked the user themselves? Would be interesting to knowI have but unfortunately have had no answer so far.
February 20Feb 20 Author From the create menu probably?I don't have a create menu on my website though, I've removed it.
