Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Joey_M Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I have just upgraded my dev site from 4.7.19 to the latest beta of v5. I have this message: " This license key has already been activated. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact technical support." Nothing has changed, it's the same URL listed in my client area but I still can't get it to be accepted.
Marc Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Try refreshing the license data in the admin CP. If that doesnt work, please update the login details in your client area, so I can get in and take a look Joey_M 1
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Thank you, I have updated the information and the location of FTP. You should see the dev.url there. Just to point out: I don't have the option to refresh the license. Also, I am not sure if the default skin(s) are right. I haven't edited them, but they just don't seem right to me.
Marc Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I managed to enter your test key there no problem. This is working now for you. Ive switched you over to a default unaltered theme. You didnt actually have one. You were using an IPS Focus theme Joey_M 1
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 I don't seem to be able to configure widgets on a page. Even wiith the v5 deault theme, I see this error: [[Template core/front/global/mobileFooterBar is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]
Marc Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Are you seeing anything showing up in the system logs related to this?
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 I see loads of errors in the system log, some seem to be related to the theme. Others are the templates I use.

Just wanted to verify I think it has some how, I personally haven't but I did notice on my live site that there's edited changes. On my dev site I am not sure I have the proper themes for v5. Drewfus Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Maybe try the first defualt theme in customizations then clear system caches. Joey_M 1
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 The create button is gone in v5? 😮 Just now, Drewfus said: Maybe try the first defualt theme in customizations then clear system caches. I've tried this. 😞 @Marc @Jim M: Has anyone reported that if there's no space in the comment field, you cannot quote someone? I had to manually press enter in order to quote the above.

Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 20250107-1818-51.2335272.mp4 Google Chrome Version 131.0.6778.205 (Official Build) (64-bit) Also, when I clicked to read your comment - mine disappeared. It's captured in the video I recorded. I'm not sure why my reply wouldn't be listed, when I clicked to read yours shortly after posting. It seems like a bug. 🙂
Jim M Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Would recommend clearing your browser cache and disabling any extensions as I am using the same browser/version without issues here.
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 I think my account on my dev site v5 has an issue with the permissions, I still can't control the widgets.
Drewfus Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) Whats the url of your dev site. I would try upload the beta again overwrite the files you have in your root it might fix it and delete any customized themes and third pary apps and plugins . Edited January 7 by Drewfus Joey_M 1
Joey_M Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 5 minutes ago, Drewfus said: @Joey_M Did you get it figured out yet? Yes, I reuploaded the files as you suggested. I also realised that the menu for the widgets was placed differently in v5. Yet it didn't show up before, I'm just trying to fix the template issues not caused by third-party stuff. Thank you. Marc Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Are you seeing anything in console when you get the issue with quoting?

Most look related to the templates I use with Pages. However, this seems related to the new mobile navigation - I can't find errors relating to it. [[Template core/front/global/mobileFooterBar is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] Sorry, I missed your response.

Think there is confusion here as you have 2 issues in the topic: Related to your version 5 beta test site. Quoting someone here on our Community. My colleague's reply was related to #2. He was asking if there were any errors in your browser's console when attempting to quote. You can view this by clicking F12 -> Console. --- The quote above which I made of your Template error is related to version 5 Beta. You should see something related to this in ACP -> Support -> System Log.
