Mascot Insider Posted Saturday at 06:42 PM Posted Saturday at 06:42 PM Hello, So I wanted to go ahead and begin upgrading my Community to Version 5 to try out the new features. I'm Self Hosted and uploaded all the Files via FTP and went to /Admin/Upgrade but it just says I have nothing to upgrade to and shows Invision Community 4 Upgrader. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
legionaire Posted Saturday at 06:47 PM Posted Saturday at 06:47 PM try going to https://yoursite.XXX/admin/upgrade

Upgrading to a beta version isn't advisable due to it not being stable and containing bugs and possibly security issues. If you want to test the new version, you can install it as a test forum, rather then upgrading your live forum. Or you can make a replica of your live forum to your test forum and upgrade that. That being said, did you upload the Ipb 5 files inside your forum directory overwritting the forum files? I am asking because from your description it doesn't look that way. A word of advice if I may, make a backup of the dataabse first because if things don't go as planned you can always roll back. Edited Saturday at 07:04 PM by Miss_B

I do understand the Risks with upgrading to Beta and have did some deep research before deciding to do it. And I have my site backed up! But that’s correct all files have been uploaded/replaced to the Version 5 files so not sure why it’s not triggering the upgrade! 32 minutes ago, legionaire said: try going to https://yoursite.XXX/admin/upgrade Tried that just says no Upgrade available.
Hatsu Posted Saturday at 07:54 PM Posted Saturday at 07:54 PM (edited) If you uploaded all files of v5 via FTP to your current installation of version 4 your site shouldn't work anymore. So did you upload them to the right directory? Sorry, I have to ask because you should expect weird behaviour of your site. Edited Saturday at 07:54 PM by Hatsu Mascot Insider 1
Mascot Insider Posted Saturday at 10:52 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:52 PM Hi All, Just an update. Thank you all for your input! It looks like my FTP connection wasn't connecting to the server correctly and even though it showed it uploaded the File correctly it did not. Like @Hatsu mentioned my site is now displaying the correct actions and the Upgrade page is working! When I return home I look forward to beginning the process. Thanks so much!
Mascot Insider Posted Sunday at 04:20 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:20 PM (edited) Hi All, So keeping to one Topic now hoping the other one is deleted soon. I've decided to go with a Test Install because it looks like many old Plug-Ins are causing lots of issues even tho I disabled them so I reverted my website to Version 4. I'm having fun playing around with Version 5 but I can't upload anything... I've Checked: My Group setting is "Unlimited" I've checked my PHP.int and the limit is good... So I'm not sure what to do or am I missing a new setting in Version 5? Edited Sunday at 04:23 PM by Mascot Insider
Hatsu Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM (edited) Depending on when you had downloaded the v5 files there is a possibility you need a patch. There are several file size settings in different sections. Gallery, Downloads, System. All do different things. So what are you trying to upload and where? In ACP you can search for size and you get at least three different ones. Edited Sunday at 05:08 PM by Hatsu
