ghinton Posted December 3 Posted December 3 First off... Are photos uploaded in the gallery supposed to count as a content item posted, as far as achievement rules, or do these only apply to items posted in the forums? Secondly, are the Achievement Rules going to be expanded? They have so much potential with gamifying the site, and increasing participation, but right now it is so limited on what types of things you can do/
Hatsu Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Your first question: Yes, you can do that. I don’t know out of my head if it’s a default rule but if not you can add it in the ACP -> Members -> Achievements -> Rules. ghinton 1

On the first question, it depends on what you set up. You can actually do either. If you just select this then it is any new content item (not replies/comments, but the content item itself) If you wanted to limit it to only one area at any point, you could do, by selecting the "Add a location condition" option, and choosing the content item needed 8 hours ago, ghinton said: Secondly, are the Achievement Rules going to be expanded? ghinton Posted December 5 Author Posted December 5 Thanks to both of you. For some reason when I was trying, the choices were not showing, but when I went back they did appear. As far as expansion, basically allowing everything for everything. I know that doesn't make much sense, but for one, there needs to be more options to choose from, and then be able to use secondary options from different areas. For example, under an old awards system, I used to have an award called "Stalker" where it would be automatically be awarded to someone who had been a member for 7 days, but had never posted anything. They didn't have to sign in to be awarded. Currently I can't create this because for one, a trigger is a sign-in instead of days registered, and secondly it would require triggers from the post count as well, and you can't do that either. Another idea might be one called "Camera Shy", where the person has been a member for X number of days, and they have never posted a photo in the gallery section. Or say you want to award someone who has posted X number of times in both the forums and the gallery sections, but right now it is based on the total post count. These are just some simple ideas. Ideally it could be something like what @Kevin Carwile used to have, which was amazingly powerful, even though I know what he had made went far beyond badges, but maybe it could create a post when there is a trigger, such as when ever someone registers, it will create a new welcome post for them in the Introductions, or a congratulations post when someone reaches a certain milestone, such as 1000th or 10,000th post. konon and Marc 2
