Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Shmuel G Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Since upgrading to 4.7.19, the forum has been automatically hiding several posts and waiting for moderator approval, with a message saying that the message is potentially spam. So far, none of the messages have been spam and I don't see why they would have been flagged. I also can't find any system setting to control this.
Marc Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago If you can provide me with some examples of this, I can certainly take a look for you
Shmuel G Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago I don't have a screenshot of the approval message because they've already been approved. But I got email notifications like this: === Guest L Meyers (Guest) has posted a topic requiring approval, Who owns the Conflict of Interest Policy? Posted in General Discussion Who owns the Conflict of Interest Policy? === <Text of the message omitted> Go to this Topic === The above notice was for this topic: https://robertsrules.forumflash.com/topic/44712-who-owns-the-conflict-of-interest-policy/ Other notices were for: https://robertsrules.forumflash.com/topic/44714-delays-in-implementing-resolution-despite-approval-and-allocated-funds/ https://robertsrules.forumflash.com/topic/44716-inaccurate-information/ https://robertsrules.forumflash.com/topic/44717-email-voting-on-a-motion/ I think what is happening is that every guest post is requiring approval. Or maybe only guest posts that are made during the registration process?
Solution Stuart Silvester Posted 21 hours ago Solution Posted 21 hours ago Hi, In 4.7.19 we changed the default for 'Cloud Spam Content Analysis' to on, it'll only apply to users that have less than 5 posts or haven't posted in 6 months. You can disable this if you wish in AdminCP > Smart Community > Spam Analysis, but I think you may want to change your permissions instead (see below). However, it does look like you have guest posting enabled which isn't the 'post before registering' feature, if you prefer to use that feature to have your guests register, you would need to edit the group permissions for 'guests' and remove their ability to post or reply. I know that seems counter-productive but that will allow that feature to work.
Shmuel G Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Thank you. I found the settings in the features tab. However, it is strange that searching settings for "spam analysis" does not find this area. Daniel F 1
