hi, how could i change notiofiucation settings for  all users or all users of a certain group so that they e.g. don't get any notofocation that their message was approved?

Unfortunately, there isn't really anything for this as specifically a setting. This is generated by the system to let the user know a moderator has approved a post. This would take customization currently to disable.

Yes, as Jim mentioned, the only way is a custom modification because there is no setting to disable it. It's easy enough to make if you want to go ahead with it.
