Posted February 27, 20231 yr Hi! I am investigating why my emails won't send and have noticed this error: Is this something I have to configure in IPS or is this being blocked elsewhere? Thanks for any assistance!
February 27, 20231 yr Author For more context: I initially created a gmail account for the site, but it contained a typo. I copy & pasted that address into the ingoing & outgoing fields in the admin CP. Test emails are working for that email address. I then noticed the typo and created another gmail account with it corrected. I updated the addresses in the admin CP (ingoing & outgoing) and attempted to sending a test email. This is when the error occurred.
February 27, 20231 yr You can’t just use your normal Gmail username/password. You have to create an app specific password. Gmail blocks these requests. https://support.salesmate.io/hc/en-us/articles/360004467631-Sign-in-using-App-Passwords-Gmail-SMTP New Gmail accounts by default require 2FA which obviously does not work out of the box with SMTP.

February 27, 20231 yr Please try saving the setting again. You shouldnt be getting that message if you are using our platforms email, as its not sent by gmail at all in that scenario. I suspect its not actually saved the setting properly

February 27, 20231 yr Management Solution femvoxcommunity@gmail.com was blocked in our system because when you originally tested it did not exist. I have removed the block.
