Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
beats23 Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Hello, I now decided I want to block a whole country from viewing my website. Has anyone ever done this? Is there a plugin that can do this? How do I find all the IP address for a given country? Thanks
Randy Calvert Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 This is not something you would do in the IPS software itself. You would want to do it either at the server level or with a cloud-based WAF. beats23 1
Solution Makoto Posted April 12, 2022 Solution Posted April 12, 2022 (edited) Cloudflare, for example, makes this very easy to do. Just go Security, then WAF, and from there you can set up a rule to block an entire country code from accessing your server. Just be sure you've carefully considered the implications, and you are certain you really want to do this. (You can also block TOR exit relays via the country code firewall rule) Edited April 12, 2022 by Makoto beats23 1
Marc Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 As mentioned, you can only really do this at a server level. There is nothing within the software itself that would allow you to do this. If you are unsure, you would need to contact your hosting company for assistance. You Could have course block IPs using the ban settings, but that will not stop them getting to your server in the first place. It will simply stop them registering beats23 1
