Invision Community 5: A video walkthrough creating a custom theme and homepage By Matt Thursday at 04:02 PM
Bluedrake42 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Hi. I love IPS. We use it for a lot of our communities. However we're getting to a point where having multiple communities running simultaneous copies of IPS is getting overwhelming. I'd really prefer if there was a way to have a single universal version of IPS, and then each domain has its own subcommunity in a single universal IPS install. I'm not sure if this is possible. Pretty sure it isn't, but if possible... it would be a great feature to have. I don't care if I'd have to pay for each IPS per-domain instance... but merely having a consistent user base across each domain would be fantastic. https://operationharshdoorstop.com/ https://drakelings.bluedrake42.com/ https://teardownmods.com/ https://freegamedownloads.org/
Runar Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 (edited) You could connect two Invision Community installations using this guide: This would allow your members to sign in to the different communities using their credentials from the first one. You would need separate installations with separate licenses, though, but it could give you a consistent user base, as you put it. This would work perfectly well with separate domains too. Solution Jim M Posted January 19, 2022 Solution Posted January 19, 2022 I'm afraid, our licensing alone, would prevent you from setting up multiple domains on one license. You can only have 1 Live URL per license. Additionally, technically speaking, our software follows that strategy as well as it requires 1 URL. You could do the redirection thing which @Runar was talking about as that would not interfere with licensing or technical components. SeNioR- 1

I would be entirely fine with purchasing multiple licenses to cover each website.
