Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted January 8, 20223 yr So I can't find any way to control permissions for user groups to upload attachments on different forums. I am sure that is an option, right? Edited January 10, 20223 yr by Madal
January 8, 20223 yr Community Expert Solution No, it was removed on IPS4 due to low cost of hosting/external storage so it wouldn’t be a problem, IIRC. Per forum: you can control who can download only via permissions. Per group: you can control total space for each member of the group. Edited January 8, 20223 yr by Adriano Faria
January 8, 20223 yr Author Thanks for letting me know. For me it doesn't quite make sense to remove it though. It is an important feature when you need to restrict some user groups not to post images or attachments. There are many examples when it is necessary. I believe that other forum platforms have that option available as well. Edited January 8, 20223 yr by Madal
January 10, 20223 yr Community Expert I'm a little confused as to the response there to be honest. You can indeed control permissions for who can and cant upload attachments
January 10, 20223 yr Community Expert I'm a little confused as to the response there to be honest. You can indeed control permissions for who can and cant upload attachments Hi Marc. He meant the forum permission exiting on IP.Board 3.X. Before you could allow members to upload per forum.
January 10, 20223 yr Community Expert Hi Marc. He meant the forum permission exiting on IP.Board 3.X. Before you could allow members to upload per forum. Fair enough. There was no indication of this in the original post, hence the confusion.
January 10, 20223 yr Author My apologies for the confusion here. Thanks for pointing it out Marc. I fixed it in original post. Edited January 10, 20223 yr by Madal
