Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 15, 20213 yr Hi! Recently login and registration on the forum stopped working. Error EX0 appears. In the "Support" tab there is information that the server time is not exact and that it reports the time one hour back. The problem arose after changing the time from summer to winter (in Poland there is a tradition that the time is shifted forward by an hour for winter, and by an hour backward in spring). I have already written to hosting support and their server time is correct and up to date. So why is IPS getting the wrong timezone? The hosting actually has it correct, I checked with this page https://ipgeolocation.io/timezone-api.html Edited November 15, 20213 yr by Adam Budzyński
November 15, 20213 yr I've opened a support incident on your behalf, and you should get an email about it. We'll need access details to your site, but we have none on file, so please add those details in the Client Area and we can investigate further.
November 16, 20213 yr Author The existing accounts have a 'Warsaw' timezone. New accounts have 'UTC' timezone instead of 'Warsaw'. Maybe this is source of problem? Existing accounts timezone (good) New accounts timezone (problem) PS. Support still doesn't help me 😕
November 16, 20213 yr Community Expert Solution The issue here was unfortunately due to PHPMail configuration. You PHPMail function on your server is not enabled, and therefore the software could not send mail through it. It does need to be noted here that my colleague assisted with switching you to SMTP which is outside the scope of technical support. PS. Support still doesn't help me Please note our SLA is to respond within 72 hours. Looking at this, your topic was actually responded to within less than an hour, and the issue resolved in 18 hours even with advanced support there
November 16, 20213 yr Author Yeah, thanks. But now emails are not delivered (activate account or remind password) - I was waiting 10+mins, spam are also empty.
November 16, 20213 yr If there is no entry with an error in the Email Logs, then the email has been handed off to the server (via PHPMail or SMTP). What happens to it after that, if the email is not delivered, is something your Host would need to investigate. They also would be the ones to make sure the correct SPF, DKIM, and rDNS Records are in place to help insure delivery.
November 16, 20213 yr Author I have others emails and i also use SMTP server for sending emails and workings fine, but on IPS forum this not workings fine. Second problem: In "Support" Tab in ACP still exists 1 critical error about timezone - My hosting have a 'Europe/Warsaw' timezone but forum time is one hour backward.
November 16, 20213 yr Please continue this via your support ticket so that we can assist you best, we're wandering off the original question(s). They may be related, but this is best resolved by using the ticket.
